We have gone live with the Android and Web versions of app update 2.70.  We are in the process of finalizing the iOS release now, and it will be available soon. There are a lot of new features and functionality added to 2.70 that will continue to assist learners in accelerating their growth around the world.

When logging in, you’ll notice a few visual changes to the student app. At the top right, you’ll notice the ‘?/EN’ icon which will help you access our new languages toggle option. In the bottom left Skills block, you’ll see a ‘Preview’ option for our new Work Life and Finance courses.

Work Life Skills and Financial Literacy

Preview versions of Work Life Skills and Financial Literacy are now available. Each course has 10 lessons available out of the planned 30 lesson sequence. We’re hard at work to complete all of the lessons soon. We will be finishing Work Life first, and then Financial Literacy.

These new courses are available to adult learners directly in the app (just click the Add Course button below the course map). For non-adult learners, their teachers can add the new courses in the LMS using the ‘add courses’ option.  After completing the first ten lessons, students can take the final challenge and earn a certificate.

Onboarding Language Toggle

To assist English learners getting started with the app, we’ve added a language icon to the top right of the home screen, courses screen, and login screen with 6 support languages: Spanish, Arabic, Persian/Farsi, Pashto, Urdu, and Ukrainian.

Add Closed Captioning to All Learning Upgrade Lessons

Lesson captions are now available in English and Spanish for all Learning Upgrade lessons (not including new preview courses). To access captions, just click the “CC” button at top of the app screen. By default, captions will be set to English.

To switch languages from English, click the hamburger menu on the courses screen and select Spanish or Arabic for your settings.  All non-preview Learning Upgrade courses have closed captioning for Spanish. Arabic captions are only available for English B, 1, 2.
