Learning Upgrade's Launch Event in Liberia

Last month, Foundation for Women and Learning Upgrade, in partnership with Orange Liberia, hosted the Literacy for Liberia launch event hosted at the Golden Key Hotel in Monrovia, Liberia from 2-5pm. Almost 200 attendees showed up to celebrate the success of the pilot and the future of the Literacy for Liberia Initiative.

Last year, Foundation for Women, Learning Upgrade, and Orange Liberia partnered to bring life-changing education directly to 200+ learners. Students spent over 2,000 hours on Learning Upgrade, a program that teaches English, math, and job skills for self-reliance.

During the event, we celebrated the success of the pilot and had the pleasure of recognizing students for their learning gains. Students who participated in the pilot earned and received 78 Learning Upgrade certificates, each being the equivalent of one school year of learning!

It is with the momentum and commitments made during the event that we will be able to achieve the next phase of the Literacy for Liberia Initiative: bringing Learning Upgrade to 10,000 more Liberians in 2023

Thank you to Foundation for Women for organizing and hosting the event and to Orange Liberia for sharing more about our joint commitment to make Learning Upgrade free for all Liberians.
